Inspiring Young Salt Lakers

We with the Salt Lake City Education Foundation, the Salt Lake City School District, and industry leaders including DiscGenics, Krado, and CleanJoule to host “Innovation Day” for around 50 middle school students this year. The event provided an engaging introduction to biotechnology through interactive sessions and hands-on activities. Students explored important concepts in science and sustainability, learning about different pathways to careers in the field. With this program, we aim to inspire, educate, and empower the next generation of innovators and leaders while highlighting biotechnology’s real-world applications in health, agriculture, and energy.

Additionally, our Salt Lake students at SLCSE-Bryant had the opportunity to experience moving and completing tasks in pressurized spacesuits through Uplift’s Starborn Academy!

Uplift’s Starborn Academy is a VR (Virtual Reality)-based program aimed at educating and raising awareness in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). Programs like this help foster an interest in STEM career pathways for students and inspire them to pursue their passions in these fields.

Thank you to our partners, Uplift Aerospace, Salt Lake City School District, and Salt Lake Education Foundation, for making this possible and encouraging our students to reach for the stars.
